Abstract: The higher statistical education launched by the Communist Party of China began in the late 1940s. Although the historical documents of higher statistical education were scarce before the founding of the People?s Republic of China, there were still traces to follow. This paper starts from The Practically Statistical Methods, a higher statistical textbook published by the North China Xinhua Bookstore in the liberated areas in 1948, to make a preliminary exploration on the higher statistical education run by the Communist Party of China in the liberated areas.
