Abstract: The path of private corporate innovation is far from easy, and there is a long way to embark on the new innovation-driven road. The deep integration of Internet with the real economy has led to a new trend of “capitalization” of the Internet. However, the research on the impact mechanism of Internet capital on private corporate innovation is still insufficient. In this context, this paper introduces the dynamic capability theory to the Internet economics, defining the theoretical connotation of Internet capital from the ability angle and building its evaluation system from the dimensions of access and usage. In addition, the theoretical hypothesis of this paper is tested using the data of World Bank Enterprise Survey in 2012. The conclusions obtained in this paper are summarized as follows. Internet capital has a positive effect of promoting private corporate innovation. Compared with access to Internet, the innovative effect of usage is more obvious. The perfect institutional environment helps improve private corporate innovation. Internet capital makes up for the lack of a sound institutional environment by inclusive innovation. The results expand the research scope of Internet economics, and provide micro empirical evidence for promoting the deep integration of Internet with the real economy and the effective landing of the highquality development policy of private economy.
