Abstract: This is an abridgement of the study report, which is composed of three parts: the first part introduce the current status of study of statistics at home and abroad; the second part explore the connotation of statistics from two points of view—the historical development of statistics and the definition of modern statistics, and try to give a scientific definition for this subject; the third part explore the objective, constructing principle and frame of statistics subject system.
