Abstract: This paper estimates the respective contributions of physical capital, labor, human capital and technical progress to the economic growth in the eastern China by the meta-production approach. Of the four sources of growth, physical capital is the most important after the introduction of the reform and open-door policies, followed by technical progress and human capital while labor is the least important. This study clearly indicates that human capital has a large, positive and statistically significant effect on output.
