Abstract: Using the results of survey on near 1000 families in Xiamen city in 1997, the author has described the total level and structural features of children’s education fee in Chinese economic zone, discussed dynamic model of children’s education investment in the development of market economy, and analyzed the main determinants affecting children’s education by multi-regression. The research shows that average education expenses for a child until 16 years old totaled 17573 RMB Yuan, of which 71% was paid to schools. Family income, age, one child and education level of the parents are all the factors affecting children’s education expenses.
