Abstract: It is a very important problem demanding prompt solution that how to estimate response error in statistical surveys. This paper applies the random response model to estimate response error, establishes a metric model, discusses the method to estimate response error, deduce the unbiased estimator and variance for population response error, and discusses how to correct estimates of population indicators in census and sample survey by response error model.
