Abstract: Abstract: Great changes have happened in the forestry statistics from its coverage to the connotation of output along with the change from traditional forestry to modern forestry and increasing attention to sustainable development of forests. Firstly, this paper discusses the statistical coverage of traditional forestry, and investigates its extension by spreading contents and extending industry chain. Secondly, this paper focuses on the output statistics of forestry, not only discusses the improvement of present method of forestry output statistics, but also extends to cover depletion of forest resource and ecological service to provide forest total output as the index measuring the contribution of forest to economic system on the base of principle of SEEA. Finally, this paper summarizes the relationship between forest and forestry based on the forest accounting frame.
