Abstract: In order to improve government statistics, data quality assessment methods have to be applied in practice. In this paper, from a practical point of view, we summarize the government statistics data accuracy assessment methods into five categories, and explain the principles of the various methods, the representative literature, the constraints, as well as advantages and disadvantages. It concludes that method choosing should be based on the data characteristics and assessment purpose, as far as possibly meeting the constraints of the method. In practice, using one or several methods both are acceptable, but assessment results should be treated with caution.
