Abstract: Brief introduction was made on the history, significance and role of current rural households sample survey; then, from the three aspects such as features, reasons and results of the problems existed in the current survey pattern, the analysis were made on such issues as dilemma, one point cannot be used for multi-purpose, shortage of the indicator system and bad use of data information in current rural survey practice. And finally, on the basis of the development tendency in rural market economy and requirements for statistical reform and development, the countermeasures were proposed to build a new pattern of our rural household survey in next century.
