Abstract: From the view of the connotation of the coordinated development of China's economy and society, the coordinated development should emphasize both coordination and development. That is to say the coordinated development is the complex of coordination and development. In the existing literatures, scholars use the deviation coefficient to measure the level of coordinated development. In fact, the deviation coefficient can only measure the trend of a discrete set of data, which means that only measures the level of coordination, and cannot describe the system development. There are some limitations in the measure of the level of the coordinated development using the deviation coefficient. However, it is undeniable that the deviation coefficient has inherent advantages in measuring the coordination degree. If weighted the development degree to the aberration coefficient, it will be more scientific to measure the level of the coordinated development of China’s economy and society.
