Abstract:

There are many methods treating owner-occupied housing in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), but it has not formed the international common method. This paper reviews the methods of accounting owner-occupied housing in the CPI and development and applicability of these methods in detail. Subsequently, this paper reviews the relevant research in China and points out the problems existing in relevant research. Combined with the characteristics of the current big data era, this paper prospects research on owner-occupied housing in the CPI.
