Abstract: As there are different opinions about the belongings of migrants’ income, this paper compares the urban-rural income gap under different statistical belongings of migrants’ income, and their implications. First, we did some mathematical derivation of the urban-rural income gap under different statistical belongings of migrants’ income, and proposed three hypotheses. Then, we use CHIP2007 data to examine these hypotheses. Among different belongings of migrants’ income, the resident principle is more reasonable. In addition, we adjust the income caliber to see the variation of urban-rural income gap.
