Abstract: The importance of using administrative records in social statistics has been realized by Statistics Department nowadays, and many research have been focused on it. Through doing literature analysis, the paper discussed the relationship between administrative records and government statistics from different ways, which included: relationship between administrative records and government statistics from historic perspective, the advantages and problems of using administrative records in government statistics, the domestic and overseas status quo of using administrative records in government statistics, and how to use administrative records to improve government statistics.
