Abstract: Currently, the study on the income distribution disparity of Chinese urban residents stays at a static stage, which is short of profound research on the income mobility as time changes. This paper uses the data of Shenzhen urban residents from 2005 to 2006 to study this problem, and the results indicate that the long-run income inequality is smaller than short-run income inequality, and the household income inequality is smaller than single-sourced income inequality. Since the income distribution and income source diversification reflects the degree of opportunity equality, the further reform to establish a more mature market system and improve the opportunity equality would be an effective way to realize harmonious income distribution.
