Abstract: From the viewpoint of centralization vs. decentralization, this paper compares the economic-and-trade statistical systems between China and the United States. The results show that U.S. economic-and-trade statistical system is relatively centralized while China’s is relatively decentralized, and which is suggested to strengthen the coordination of statistical work among ministries of the Central Government, as well as among the departments within the Ministry of Commerce.
