Abstract: This paper introduces the challenges for the national statistical institutions under the background of digital subversion and data revolution, discusses the new tasks and new competition of statistical institutions brought by economic and social changes, expounds the necessity of the repositioning of national statistical institutions, and gives the suggestions from three aspects on governance, organization, ability and professional knowledge.
