Abstract: Since Reform and Opening-up Policy, productivity and its effects on economic growth has attracted attention across society. In particular, after entering the new century, the technology management department in all regions and every planning have proposed the targets for productivity contribution. In fact, the theoretical model about productivity and related indicators involves a very complicated process, although it seems simple. In the measurement process, data quality is highly demanded, and the result depends on the choice of various parameters. Also, the complexity of the measurement has been increased by the requests made by the government and technology management department. The authors of this paper has followed the domestic productivity researches in a long time, and has participated in the government for measurement. This paper makes a few suggestions for how to measure the productivity reasonably.
