Abstract: Based on the extensive statistical data collection, this paper firstly constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system of Chinese city tourism competitiveness and analyzes the tourism competitiveness of 293 cities at prefectural of above level from the independent tourism index; then compares the city tourism efficiency based on Data Envelopment Analysis to estimate the potential of the city tourism development; at last, provides different kinds of strategies of city tourism development.
