Abstract: It is the fastest development period for Chinese economy over the past decade, but the issues of agriculture, farmer and rural area has become increasingly prominent, the income of farmers has become the fundamental problem to be solved. The paper investigated the evolution of regional income distribution through the convergence test, density function and transition matrix. The empirical analysis showed that the income growth in poor provinces were higher than that in the rich provinces, which led to a diminishing trend in the rural income gap between provinces, but the changes of relative income status of different provinces are different.
