Abstract: Based on the Input-output Table of Heilongjiang province and sampling survey data in 2007, this paper separated the road construction sector from the construction industry. A formula graph involving seven relevant sectors (Road construction sector included) was proposed accordingly. The direct and indirect contributions of road construction sector to the national economy was measured with Input-output method, which leads the conclusion that the contribution of road construction sector makes towards the related industries is mainly derived from the relevance value of its contribution, that means the road construction sector is a leading factor in promoting the other industries. Therefore we suggested that the road construction should be heavily invested to ensure its future development.
