Abstract: Quarterly Estimates of GDP is an important part of the system of national accounts, it plays a very important role in macro-economic situation analysis and policy making. Aiming at drawing lessons from foreign countries’ practices in quarterly GDP accounting, the paper researches on the quarterly GDP calculation methods of 36 countries, including 31 member states of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development as well as Brazil, India, Indonesia, Russian Federation and South Africa; then compares the characteristics of the quarterly GDP calculation methods and data sources used by seven representative countries in detail; finally summarizes and generalizes the calculation methods and data sources worth using for reference as well as the inspiration to the quarterly GDP accounting in China.
