Abstract: In this paper, based on the county-level cross-section data of 2007 in China, using the method of non-parametric examination, we study the financial development’s influence on the gap of urban-rural incomes. The result indicates that: according to the level of the countries’ financial development, there is a positive correlation between financial depth and the gap of urban-rural incomes at the initial stage of the financial development, that is, there is a wider gap of urban-rural incomes in regions where the finance develops deeply; at the intermediate stage of the financial development, there is no significant relation between the financial depth and the gap in urban-rural incomes, that is, the level of the financial depth will not cause significant impact on the gap of urban-rural incomes;at the advanced stage of the financial development, it shows a negative correlation between the financial depth and the gap of urban-rural incomes, that is, with the improvement of the financial depth, the gap of urban-rural incomes will be narrowed gradually, and the inequality in urban-rural incomes will be converged step by step in space, the inflection point appears at the quantile-level of 20%-60% of the financial depth.
