Abstract: This paper investigates the theory of R&D spatial spillover on regional economic growth, at the same time considers the regional absorptive capability to study the effect of R&D, R&D spillover and human capital on the regional total factor production (TFP). The studies show that R&D intensity of eastern region has positive effect on the TFP and technological progress(TP) and the effect on technical efficiency(TE) isn’t significant, but R&D intensity of central and western region don’t show the positive effect on TFP, TE and TP; human capital of eastern region has the positive effect on TFP and TP, but human capital of central and western region doesn’t show the same effect; the effect of R&D spillover to economic growth appears disparity in different regions; all the regions have not yet attain the threshold of absorptive capability to absorb international R&D spillover.
