Abstract: Arithmetic in Nine Sections is the most famous arithmetic classical work in Chinese history. The questions in it are most about economy, so there are many statistical ideas in it. This paper analyses its statistical coverage and statistical theory such as the statistical classification, linear regression, sampling deduction and studies the development of statistical idea in Chinese ancient times.
