Abstract: Abstract:This paper makes a comprehensive comparison of development of service industry between China and India. The study shows that the development level of service industry as a whole in India is not higher than that in China. Nevertheless, the growth rate of service industry is relatively fast by comparing with that of secondary industry in India while the growth rate of secondary industry is fast by comparing with that of service industry in China. Besides, the international eompetitivity of computer and information service industry in India is stronger than that of China and the openness of those industries in India is also higher. India should raise the level of industrialization in order to achieve sustainable development of her service industry while China should open the service industry wider to the outside in order to raise the level of her industrialization.
