Abstract: By input-output analysis method, this essay explores both the relationship between insurance industry and other industries and the role that insurance industry plays in Chinese national economy. Based on input-output table of China 1987 and 1992, it is found that insurance industry and other industries have been more dependent on each other, and insurance industry has played a more and more important role in Chinese national economy.
