Abstract: Starting from the measurement of technical activities, the paper introduces the measurement of technical innovation; and then starting from the investigations of technical innovation in many developed countries since the eighties, the author makes a detailed introduction of the joint investigations of technical innovation conducted by European Economic Community in the nineties.
