Abstract: Recently, network science based on graph theory has received more and more attention in the field of economic analysis, but there are different opinions on how to use it correctly. This paper combines the Input-Output economics with network science to form a dense, directed-weighted, and self-circulating topology of a complex network based on the economy as a system of circular flows. Then the degree centrality indicators of in-strength, out-strength, total-strength, and comprehensive-strength are respectively constructed on the backward linkage technological network driven by the demand and the forward linkage technological network driven by supply, with their economic meaning given. Combined two Input-Output tables of China in 2017, it shows that the degree centrality of the directed-weighted network effectively overcomes the shortcoming of a significant correlation between the degree centrality of the directed-unweighted network formed by the Weaver Index and the coefficient of variation of the coefficient matrix, and its results are more consistent with the economic basic features of sectors; the information entropy value is larger, and the resolution is higher. The research shows that the degree centrality based on a directed-weighted network is more comprehensive and effective and will further supplement and improve the identification of key industrial sectors.
