Abstract: Based on the matched data from WIOD Database, Chinese Industrial Enterprises Database and United Nations Comtrade Database, this paper investigates the impacts of FDI on Domestic Value Added in Exports by the way of Global Value Chain Embeddedness(GVCE). The results show that FDI has the positive effects on Domestic Value Added in Exports while FDI has no significant impact on Domestic Value Added in Exports from the mechanism of GVCE. By the way of GVCE, FDI would increase the Domestic Value Added from the industry which it located, while it may lead to the upstream industries embedded in the low value added segment which would cause the Domestic Value Added from the upstream industries decreasing. These above two opposite effects can explain it. From the sector aspect, FDI from knowledge and technology intensive industries, labor intensive industries have positive impacts on Domestic Value Added, but the channels of effect are different. From the linkage aspect, the backward FDI would increase the Domestic Value Added in Exports by the way of GVCE.
